Fashion Merchandising is a huge part of the world whether you want to believe it or not.  Style determines how you are looked at and also determines some of life’s most important situations.  For example, if you were going to a job interview how would you dress?  The answer is simply professional; a woman would wear dress pants and a blazer while a man would wear a suit and tie. 

 

 

            There are different types of fashion; like some are trendy, some are classic, some are ethnic, etc. Fashion is like a cycle. We mostly observe that old fashion comes again but with new colors and cuts.  The way fashion is a cycle is because the style changes each year. However, 10 years later that exact style might come back after being over used and hated on for 8 years or so.  For example, who would ever think Birkenstocks would come back? Not me.

 

 

Style is a hard decision every day, we never know the consequences. We only get a first impression one time and we want to make it the best always.  That is how style portrays an individual.   Nobody would like to bump into Brad Pitt while being sweaty and in workout clothes.  It is important to always dress appropriately because you never know when you are meeting a potential boss, sorority sister, or a relationship partner.

 

 

Today many people judge others on what they are wearing.  For example, if somebody is wearing skinny jeans with converse and a dark plaid button up we would assume they are more 90’s than current. Another example would be if you wear seersucker than you might be considered to be preppy or wealthy.  There is nothing wrong with looking like you just got out of the gym (especially if you did just get out of the gym) however would you rather meet somebody important in a cute outfit or dirty smelly clothes?
